Customer excellence, a key factor for ULMA Handling Systems
ULMA Handling Systems actively participates in an industrial research project with the aim of guaranteeing the physical and logical security of accesses and movements made by people inside any facility.
In the first half of 2019 alone there were more than 15 million unauthorised access attempts, which could be described as cyber attacks, in the cloud, of which more than 400,000 were successfully completed. Following the implementation of existing data legislation, such as the GDPR, many users remain unaware of how vulnerable their personal data may be. According to a study carried out by Sophos, a benchmark company for network and endpoint protection, 41% of cyber attack victims suffer from data leaks.

One of the main digitalisation processes that all companies are currently undergoing is to record and control in a secure and verifiable manner all accesses and visits made by the people who come to their facilities.
In its active search for excellence for its customers, ULMA Handling Systems is collaborating in the ACDC project (Advanced access Control: secure Door entry with smart Cards), an industrial research project to develop an innovative system. The aim: to guarantee the physical and logical security of accesses and movements made by people inside any type of facilities, which is relevant in order to comply with the increasingly demanding regulations and legislation on these aspects.
One of the main advantages is that companies can unify and speed up processes, such as visit registration, personalised access control to areas and the availability of digitalised information.
In addition, there are several benefits that would result from the adoption of this new system, such as full compliance on data protection and privacy, having a single integral process, time and cost savings, eliminating process duplication, smart cards with a Green concept, ease of integration with business platforms specific to each company, scalable project with multi-site option, among others.
To develop this process, ULMA Handling Systems is part of a consortium of companies alongside Batura, iSAI, Isea and Ikerlan. The ACDC project will last 30 months; it started on 1 July 2020 and is expected to end on 31 December 2022 (file number): ZL-2020/00662).
